A stress day and a settling in day…

1st visit to vet for tail docking, dew claws removed…then a day to chill

Wednesday morning at 8 am was their first appointment to the vet we hope they never remember. The little ones didn’t mind the gentle look over by Dr. Hall, but it was also time to dock their tails and remove the dew claws. Momma Jazz hung out in the truck with Rhonda, but it was a stressful time for her waiting for Brian to bring the babies back to her. Once home, although there was some sad, little baby whimpers here and there, they all settle back in to the whelping box and momma gave them all a good meal.

Thursday was a day to just let them all chill and settle back in without any added stressors or interruptions, other than their twice a day weigh-in. AND speaking of weigh ins: So far all pupa are gaining weight, especially since momma’s milk really started coming in last night.

Today’s weigh-ins recorded some significant gains from their birth weights! Here’s Green Boy already weighing in at 1 lb!

  1. So enjoy your postings.Remember tough day for us plus Mom & pups doing tail docking & dew claws when we had a Brittany liter years back. My husband John and I will be submitting a puppy application later today. Hope you have puppies still available!! Thanks, Marjie

    1. Definitely look forward to getting your application. We will contact you by phone for any further questions, concerns or information you need. We will start taking deposits from current applications in a couple of weeks, that will determine for sure how many pups total are taken. As long as your application comes in soon, I believe there still should be a pup available.

  2. Terrific!! We just submitted our puppy application requesting a female pup, plus provided requsted information. We live in Central Oregon approx an 8 hour drive away from you.
